Interrogating the Prison Industrial Complex – An Info Night in Birmingham
We are excited to be invited to this event in Birmingham:
When: Friday 11th December 2015 6pm
Where: 4 Brindley Place, Birmingham City Centre (next to the Sealife Centre)
An informal info night to discuss the Prison Industrial Complex and how we can resist, with a presentation from Empty Cages Collective.
This is the first event of the Birmingham Prison Resistance group, where we hope to make connections with those who are interested in resisting the PIC so we can begin to organise against it locally.
“The prison industrial complex (PIC) is a term we use to describe the overlapping interests of government and industry that use surveillance, policing, and imprisonment as solutions to economic, social and political problems. Through its reach and impact, the PIC helps and maintains the authority of people who get their power through racial, economic and other privileges.” – Critical Resistance
We hope to see you there! Tea and coffee will be provided. Please get in touch with any thoughts, questions, concerns…
